Minna
What they say:
MINNA is a New York based home textile brand established in 2013 by Sara Berks. MINNA uses traditional craft techniques to produce ethically made goods with a contemporary edge. Employing a cottage industry approach, MINNA partners with master weavers and artisan collectives in Mexico, Guatemala, and Uruguay, which helps ensure craft preservation and job creation.
What began as an exploration in tapestry weaving evolved into the MINNA home textile collection. Designs are informed and inspired by Feminist art, the Bauhaus, traditional craft, and vintage textiles.
MINNA comes from Sara’s maternal grandmother’s middle name - dropped upon her arrival to the United States from Germany in 1940. Sara liked the story: nostalgic with a touch of rebellion.
Why we love them:
Bold prints on handwoven textiles from Guatemala, Mexico and Uruguay. By partnering with master weavers Minna helps ensure craft preservation and job creation. These items are of such high quality they are sure to be in your family for generations.
